Whether you are capturing images of Margays in South America, huge herbivores in the Ngorongoro Crater, or your livestock and pets at home, animals are the most interesting subjects to photograph. Their natural ability to "pose" for the camera, without vanity, is purely a reaction to instinctive curiosity and survival.
Even your livestock and pets, often get tired of being the focus of all that clicking going on and get nervous before walking away. It often means the best way to take pictures of animals in their natural surroundings, is to use stealth in your approach with a huge amount of patience. Once the animal becomes comfortable with your presence and the sound of the camera, they will often settle down to allow you the time to take their photo. Don't be startled if you get a horse muzzle in the lens. Repetition is often the best tool to capture that "once in a lifetime" image for your wall or collection.
